Creating Virtual Channel Groups

The Edit Channels button will open the input and output channel selection
window and allow the designer to add or remove virtual channels as shown
in the following figure. If virtual channels are added, they will appear on the
Channels page and there will be default gain settings for the devices and
default signal routing will be created for the matrix based on the type of signal
added. If virtual channels are deleted, they will be removed from the Channels
page and their matrix signal routings will also be removed.
There is a graphic symbol (see the following figure) at the top of each virtual
channel as a reminder of whether the virtual channel is a monaural or stereo
virtual channel.

This graphic symbol is also shown on the Edit Channels page associated with
each channel in the 'Channels Defined:' column.
Virtual channel groups are collections of virtual channels that can be config-
ured together, all at once. When creating a new project, a virtual channel group
called "Mics" is automatically created and includes all the microphone inputs
for the design. The virtual channel group can be used to adjust all the settings
for all the signals in the virtual group regardless of whether the group is
expanded or contracted.
A virtual channel group may be collapsed or expanded by clicking the
