Housing-Shaft Disassembly

Refer to Figure 3-41.
1. Set the unit on a bench so that the Housing (1G) flange
is down.
SAFETY GLASSES MUST BE WORN DURING THESE NEXT STEPS.
2. Using retaining ring pliers remove Retaining Ring (1I)
from groove in Output Shaft (1A) and discard.
EYE PROTECTION SHOULD BE WORN DURING THIS PROCEDURE.
3. Remove Thrust Washer (1H).

4. While supporting the Housing (1G) on the Output Shaft
(1A) end, press the Output Shaft (1A) out of the Housing
(1G).

5. Remove the Bearing Cone (1E) from the Housing (1G).
6. Use a bearing puller to remove the Bearing Cone (1D)
from the Shaft (1A).
7. Bearing Cups (1C & 1F) will remain in Housing (1G).
