Description
The pressure relief valve (PRV) has been
opened due to excessive pressure.
Rail pressure is out of the expected average
range.
Rail pressure relief valve can not be opened
due to the rail pressure.
Rail pressure is out of the expected average
range.
The PRV can not be opened at this
operating point with a pressure shock.
Rail pressure relief valve: is open. Shutoff
conditions.
Rail pressure relief valve is open. Warning
conditions.
Rail pressure relief valve is open. (PRV)
Possible Cause
Rail pressure has exceeded the trigger
threshold of the pressure limiting valve.
Rail pressure is out of the expected average
range.
PRV can not be opened.
Rail pressure out of tolerance range (PRV can
not be opened by a pressure peak in this
operating point)
Averaged rail pressure is outside the expected
tolerance range.
Shut Off after PRV Open
Warning PRV open

Action
Threshold for error detection is an internal ECU
threshold.
Reset the fault and at reappearance check
injection system.
(A) Check rail pressure relief valve and replace
if necessary.
(B) Check high pressure pumps, pressure relief
valve and metering unit.
(C) Change components if necessary
