pins) enter the high-impedance state.

Therefore, if an external device always requires a defined input level (e.g. external memory) a pull-up
(or pull-down) resistor must be connected to each concerned output pin to prevent signal lines from
floating. If no resistor is connected, the external device may be destroyed when these pins enter the
high-impedance state.
