Entrance Guide
1•
The entrance guide [A] of this machine is adjustable for thick and thin paper.
When using thin paper the entrance guide should be set in the upper position.
This slightly lengthens the paper path which prevents the paper from creasing
in the fusing unit. When using thick paper the entrance guide should be set in
the lower position, because thick paper does not bend so easily, and is
therefore less prone to creasing. Also, the lower setting allows more direct
access to the gap between the fusing and pressure rollers. This prevents
thick paper from buckling against the fusing roller (which could cause blurring
at the leading edge of the copy).
The angle of the entrance guide is adjustable (about 1 mm of play) as shown
by the arrows in the illustration.
