MAP access points contain radios that provide networking between your
wired network and IEEE 802.11 wireless users. A MAP access point
connects to the wired network through a 10/100 Ethernet link and
connects to wireless users through radio signals.
MAP Overview
Figure 2 shows an example of a 3Com network containing MAP access
points and WX switches. A MAP can be directly connected to a WX
switch port or indirectly connected to a WX switch through a Layer 2 or
IPv4 Layer 3 network.
