When power of adhesive weakened

When power of adhesive weakened, you must recoat it. Though adhesive was coated on this machine before
shipment, when the power of it weakened due to ink, lint, dust, etc., you must recoat it. To peel adhesive
coated on before shipment, use the remover attached to this machine. (As adhesive is special one, you cannot
peel it with kerosene nor diesel oil.)
The following are the procedures when using Mimaki's genuine adhesive (Polixresin SX).
 Peel old adhesive............... Peel adhesive whose power weakened.
 Coat new adhesive ............ Coat adhesive newly.
Rough standard of recoating adhesive
In the following cases, it is time to recoat adhesive:
• Fixation has float when the printed fabric comes out from the front cover
• When the strength of right of fixation is different from that of left
• When drops of water remain on the upper surface of the belt because the belt surface became uneven due to
adhesive being peeled partly etc. and washing liquid could not be wiped with the cleaning unit wiper
• On the peeling roller, as the take-up device cannot operate because the media is peeled due to its own weight,
when the media may fall on the floor
 In case that Mimaki's genuine adhesive, Polixresin SX , is applied
In case that 1 liter of our genuine adhesive, Polixresin SX, is applied, the usable print length is
approximately between 2500mm and 3000mm.
If the adhesive power gets weaker, turn the adjustment dial of rear side of the media feeding part, and lower
the air pressure to 0 bar side.
Then, pressure of the pressure roller increases. (MAX: 0 bar)
Also, in case that adhesive power is too strong, turn the adjustment dial, and increase the air pressure.
Then, pressure of the pressure roller decreases.
• Mimaki's genuine adhesive is solvent pressure sensitive adhesive. Be sure to wear the protection
mask for organic solvent, the goggle and the gloves to recoat adhesive.
• When recoating adhesive, keep fire away and be sure to turn OFF the belt heater and the main
heater. Also, be sure to provide adequate ventilation. In addition, be sure to start the work after one
hour and more have passed since the heater was turned OFF.
• When recoating adhesive, be sure to use the chemical-proof (kerosene-proof) gloves.
• When you recoat adhesive in the room with poor ventilation or hermetically closed room, be sure to
set up the ventilation equipment.
• When using adhesive, be sure to comply with Ordinance on the Prevention of Organic Solvent
Poisoning. In addition, when recoating adhesive, be sure to perform the work under the supervision of
a person who completed the training session of organic solvent work chief or a work chief of organic
solvent.
• If the fabric loosened before using, and if float or surface waviness occurs when you attach it on the
feeding belt (when it passes the pressure roller), adhesive is not a cause. In addition, the fabric
