When an error occurs in media

The countermeasures against the errors occurring in the media are described.
Phenomenon
Printing is misaligned.
(The fabric is fed sidling.)
The fabric gets wrinkled.
Ink adhered to the fabric.

Image quality is poor

This section describes the corrective actions to be taken in case the image quality is not satisfactory.
Take remedy for particular problems with image quality. If the remedy does not work, contact your dealer or an
office of MIMAKI.
Phenomenon
White lines / blur / dark stripes (in the
direction of travel of the heads)
Characters are double- or triple-printed in
the media feed direction
Disagreement in print positions between
outward trip and homeward trip
Ink drops falling on media during printing
Cause
A preprocessed fabric which suits ink
to use is not used.
A fabric which is wrinkled or folded at
both edges is used.
A fabric which is easy to be elastic by
absorbing moisture is used.
A fabric of stretch material is used.
The edge of the roll media is widely
displaced in the width direction.
The media path is not proper for the
media used.
The rotating friction of the feeding
media is not proper for the media to
use.
(1) Execute the head cleaning. (
(2) Perform maintenance of the inside of the station. (
(3) Execute the [MEDIA COMP.] function. (
(4) If any pieces of paper or dust is attached on the path of the
heads such as media press, remove it.
(1) Execute the [MEDIA COMP.] function. (
(1) Execute the [DROP POSITION] function. (
(1) Execute the wiper cleaning. (
(2) Execute the ink cap cleaning. (
(3) Clean around the head. (
(4) Execute the head cleaning [NORMAL]. (
(5) Set a shorter interval of INTERVAL WIPING operation.

Troubleshooting
Measures
Use a pre-processed fabric which suits
the ink.
Do not use fabrics which are wrinkled
or folded at both edges.
Do not use fabrics which are easy to
be elastic by absorbing moisture or
fabrics of stretch material.
(Use preprocessed nonelastic fabrics.)
Do not use widely displaced roll media.
Set the proper path for the media.
