SUSPENSION ARM
REMOVAL
Remove the wheel hub (page 17-15).
Remove the cotter pin from the tie-rod ball joint
stud.
Remove the ball joint nut while holding the joint
stud flat surfaces with an open end wrench.
Remove the tie-rod from the knuckle.
Remove the cotter pins and loosen the castle nuts,
but do not remove them yet.
Release the ball joints, using the special tool accord-
ing to the instructions described below.

Apply grease to the ball joint remover at the point
shown.
This will ease installation of the tool and prevent
damage to the pressure bolt threads.
Insert the jaws carefully, making sure that you do
not damage the ball joint boot.
If necessary, apply Adjust the jaw spacing by turning the pressure bolt.
