MAINTENANCE
Install the transmission oil filler cap.
Check the transmission oil level (page 4-17).

ENGINE IDLE SPEED
NOTE:
• Inspect and adjust idle speed after all other ,
engine maintenance items have been performed
and are within specifications.
• The engine must be warm for accurate idle
speed inspection and adjustment.
THROTTLE STOP SCREW
Warm up the engine, shift the transmission into
neutral and place the vehicle on a level surface.
Connect a tachometer.
Check the idle speed and adjust by turning the throt-
tle stop screw as required.
•04 - '05: IDLE SPEED: 1,600 ± 100 rpm
After V5: IDLE SPEED: 1,700 ± 100 rpm
Remove the tachometer.
RADIATOR COOLANT
Check the coolant level of the reserve tank with the
engine running at normal operating temperature.
The level should be between the "UPPER" and
"LOWER" level lines with the vehicle upright on a
level surface.
If the level is low, remove the top cover (page 3-5)
and reserve tank cap, and fill the tank up to the
"UPPER" level line with a 1:1 mixture of distilled
water and antifreeze (coolant preparation: page 9-6).
If the reserve tank becomes completely empty,
there is a possibility of air getting into the cooling
system.
