CYLINDER HEAD/VALVE
Mark all the parts Remove the following:
so they can be - spring retainer
placed back in their - valve spring
original locations. - valve

- spring seat

SPRING SEAT
INSPECTION

Be careful not to Remove the carbon deposits from the combustion
damage the valve chamber.
seat and gasket
COMBUSTION CHAMBER
surfaces.
Check the spark plug hole and valve areas for
cracks.
Check the cylinder head for warpage with a straight
edge and feeler gauge across the stud holes.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.05 mm (0.002 in)
VALVE SPRING
Check the valve springs for fatigue or damage.
Measure the valve spring free length.
SERVICE LIMITS: IN: 39.7 mm (1.56 in)
EX: 42.2 mm (1.66 in)
