7. Optionally, configure the number of DNS query retries, using the ip domain retry
command. The default value is 2.

8. Optionally, configure the timeout for a DNS query using the ip domain timeout
command. The default value is 3 seconds.
G350-001(config)# ip domain timeout 4

9. The DNS Resolver is enabled by default. If it was disabled and you wish to re-enable it, use
the ip domain lookup command.
G350-001(config)# ip domain lookup

If either DHCP Client or PPP are configured in the G250/G350, you need not

configure DNS Resolver at all, because:
- DNS Resolver is enabled by default, and
- DHCP Client and PPP discover DNS servers automatically, so the list of DNS
servers will include the automatically-learned DNS servers.
All you need to do is:
- For DHCP Client, enable DHCP Client by using the ip address dhcp command.
For information about DHCP Client see
- For PPP, enable automatic discovery of DNS servers using the ppp ipcp dns
request command.
