3. Wipe offthe grease to expose the driveshaft and
the outboard joint inner race.
4. Make a mark (A) on the driveshaft {B) at the same
position of the outboard joint end (C).
5. Carefully clamp the driveshaft in a vise.

Remove the outboard joint {A) using the special
t o o l a n d a c o m m e r c i a l l y a v a i l a b l e 5 / 8 " x 1 8 s l i d e
h a m m e r ( B ) .
Remove the driveshaft from the vise.

8. Remove the stop ring from the driveshaft.
Wrap the splines on the driveshaft with vinyl tape
(A) to prevent damage to the boot.
Remove the outboard boot and boot band (B). Be
careful not to damage the boot.
Remove the vinyl tape.
