Engine Oil Filter Replacement

Oil Filter Wrench 07912-61 1000'1
1. Remove the oil filter with the special oil filter
w r e n c n .
2 . I n s p e c t t h e t h r e a d s ( A ) a n d r u b b e r s e a l ( B ) o n t h e
new filter. Wipe off the seat on the engine block,
then apply a light coat of oil to the filter rubber seal.
Use only filters with a built-in bypass system.
3 , I n s t a l l t h e o i l f i l t e r b y h a n d .
4. After the rubber seal seats, tighten the oil filter
clockwise with the special tool,
Tighten:
7/8 turn clockwise.
Tightening torque:
22 N.m (2.2 kgf.m, 16lbf ft)

5. lf eight numbers (1 to 8) are printed around the
outside of the filter, use the following procedure to
tighten the filter.
. Spin the filter on until its seal lightly seats against
t h e e n g i n e o i l c o o l e r , a n d n o t e w h i c h n u m b e r i s
at the bottom.
. Tighten the filter by turing it clockwise seven
numbers from the one you noted. For example. if
number 2 is at the bottom when the seal is seated,
tighten the filter until the number 1 comes
around the bottom.

6 . A f t e r i n s t a l l a t i o n , J i l l t h e e n g i n e w i t h o i l u p t o t h e
specified level, run the engine for more than 3
minutes, then check for oil leakage.
