Click the [Update to X.XXX] button.
A confirmation dialog box appears.
Tip
"X.XXX" shows the firmware version included in the utility software.
Note
• If the [Update to X.XXX] button is clicked with a cartridge inserted, the firmware cannot be updated. A
message "Firmware update cannot start when a cartridge is injected. Eject the cartridge." appears.
• The firmware cannot be downgraded to a lower version.

Click the [Yes] button on the dialog box.
Firmware update starts. A progress bar that indicates progress of the update is displayed during update.
Note
Do not turn off the unit or PC or disconnect the USB cable during firmware upgrade.

Check that the firmware update has been completed and the following message is displayed.
In the case of a failure to update the firmware
If a failure to start from the firmware is detected, startup from the recovery firmware is performed. This startup
takes longer than usual. Wait at least five minutes after power is turned on. After startup from the recovery firmware,
update the firmware again using the utility software.
