The BF-92 board (Fibre
Channel block) detected an
abnormal temperature.

For the ODS-D280F, perform "Eject" operation from the PC (or host device) or press the EJECT button on the rear of the drive to eject
the cartridge.
Note
EJECT button operation or power off/on operation may generate another alarm code.

Error remedy method
1.
Acquire the drive/driver log.
If the same error occurs repeatedly, send the
acquired drive/driver log to your local Sony
Sales Office/Service Center.
2.
Turn off the power.

Acquire the drive/driver log.
2.
Turn off and on the power.
3.
Eject a cartridge.

If the cartridge is not ejected, take the fol-
lowing measures.
Turn off and on the drive. Press the
EJECT button after startup to eject the
cartridge.
If the cartridge is not ejected even after
this operation, eject it manually.
4.
Insert the same cartridge.
If the cartridge cannot be inserted, turn
off and on the drive and then insert the
cartridge again.
If this error occurs again, take the fol-
lowing actions.
5.
When parts have been replaced, check their
installation status.
6.
Upgrade the drive firmware to the latest ver-
sion.
If the same error occurs repeatedly,
send the acquired drive/driver log to
your local Sony Sales Office/Service
Center.

Turn off the power.
2.
Wait for about 10 minutes, and then turn on
the power again to eject the cartridge.
3.
Check whether there is any obstacle that
blocks air flow from the fan exhaust outlet
and to the air vents (front/rear).
4.
Check the ambient temperature of this unit.
5.
Startup the maintenance menu and perform
FAN MOTOR.
When this operation fails, check the instal-
lation of the relevant fan and the cable con-
nection.
Improper connection (half insertion or
oblique insertion)
Damage to connectors
Significant scratches or disconnection
of flexible flat cables
Damage or contamination at connect-
ing parts (Unplug flexible flat cables.)
6.
Check the installation status of the heatsink
on the BF-92 board (ODS-D280F).
7.
Check the air filter.
If the air filter is significantly conta-
minated, replace it.
