General notes
The heating and air-conditioning system is
only operational when the engine is run-
ning. It is only able to work properly when
you are driving with the windows closed.
i
In hot weather, air the vehicle for a short
time. This will allow you to obtain the desired
temperature in the vehicle interior more quickly.
The heating and air-conditioning system
heats or cools the vehicle interior accord-
ing to the temperature set and the outside
temperature.
The combination filter filters out all pollen,
as well as particles of dust and odours to a
large extent.
i
The interval for replacing the filter depends
in particular on environmental influences such
as heavy air pollution. The interval may be short-
er than that indicated in the Service Booklet. A
clogged filter reduces the volume of air flowing
into the vehicle interior.
G
Risk of accident
Follow the settings recommended on the
following pages for heating or cooling. The
windows could otherwise mist up. You may
no longer be able to observe the traffic con-
ditions and could cause an accident.
i
Condensation may form on the underside of
the vehicle.
H
Environmental note
The air-conditioning system uses the refrig-
erant R 134 A. This refrigerant does not
damage the earth's ozone layer.
