Troubleshooting
Problem
The acceleration capability is
deteriorating.
The transmission will not shift.
Headlamps and turn signals
Problem
The headlamps are misted up
on the inside.
The hazard warning lamps are
not working.

consequence
The transmission is operating in
emergency mode.
You can only switch into 2nd
gear and into reverse gear.
Possible cause/
consequence
The air humidity is very high.
The headlamp housing is not
sufficiently sealed and moisture
has penetrated it.
The battery isolating switch is
switched off.

Suggested solutions
Stop the vehicle.
Move the selector lever to P.
Turn the key to position 0 in the ignition lock.
Wait at least 10 seconds before restarting the engine.
Move the selector lever to position D or R.
When in D the automatic transmission switches into 2nd gear
and in R into reverse gear.
Have the transmission checked immediately at a qualified
specialist workshop.
Suggested solutions
Drive with the lights on.
The misted headlamps clear after you have driven a short dis-
tance.
Have the headlamps checked at a qualified specialist work-
shop.
