Selector lever positions
v Parking lock
Prevents the parked vehicle
from rolling away. Only move the
selector lever to position P when
the vehicle is stationary.
i
You can only remove the key
when the selector lever is in position
P. When the key has been removed,
the selector lever is locked in posi-
tion P.
t Reverse gear
Only move the selector lever to
position R when the vehicle is
stationary.
s Neutral
Releasing the brakes allows you
to move the vehicle freely, e.g.
by pushing or towing.
Do not move the selector lever
to N while the vehicle is in mo-
tion. The automatic transmis-
sion could otherwise be
damaged.
Only shift briefly to N if:
the vehicle threatens to skid,
e.g. on slippery roads in win-
ter
you wish to engage the
transfer case
w Drive
The automatic transmission
changes gear automatically. All
forward gears are available.

Transmission
One-touch gearshifting
In selector lever position D, you can also
change gear yourself when in automatic
transmission mode.
To shift down: briefly press the selec-
tor lever to the left towards D–.
The automatic transmission shifts
down one gear, depending on the gear
currently engaged. In addition, the shift
range is limited.

The automatic transmission does not shift
down if you move the selector lever towards D–
when the road speed is too high. The engine
could otherwise overrev.
To shift up: briefly press the selector
lever to the right towards D+.
The automatic transmission shifts up
one gear, depending on the gear cur-
rently engaged. In addition, the shift
range is extended.
