Diesel fuel

Risk of explosion
Diesel fuel is highly flammable. Fire, naked
flames and smoking are therefore prohibit-
ed when handling diesel fuel.
Switch off the engine and auxiliary heating*
before refuelling.
Do not allow diesel fuel to come into direct
contact or contact via your clothing, and do
not inhale diesel fumes. You will otherwise
damage your health.

Do not allow fuel to come into contact with
skin or clothing. If fuel comes into direct
contact with your skin or if you inhale fuel
vapours, it will damage your health.

Never use petrol in vehicles with diesel en-
gines. Do not mix diesel fuel with petrol. Even
small amounts of the incorrect fuel will result in
damage to the injection system. Damage result-
ing from adding the incorrect fuel is not covered
by the warranty.

Diesel consumption – introduction
The vehicle will consume more fuel than
usual in the following conditions:
At very low temperatures
In urban traffic
On short trips
When towing a trailer
In mountainous terrain
The consumption values were determined
in accordance with EU Directive
80/1268/EEC under the following test
conditions:
Inner-city driving conditions are simu-
lated by frequent pulling away and
stopping
Extra-urban driving conditions are sim-
ulated by accelerating from 0 to
120 km/h using all gears
Total fuel consumption is calculated
using a weighting of approximately 37%
for inner-city driving and approximately
63% for extra-urban driving
