Only have work on the engine electronics
and associated parts such as control units,
sensors or connector leads carried out at a
qualified specialist workshop which has the
necessary specialist knowledge and tools to
carry out the work required. Mercedes-Benz
recommends that you use a Mercedes-Benz
Service Centre for this purpose.
In particular, work relevant to safety or on
safety-related systems must be carried out
at a qualified specialist workshop. Road
safety could otherwise be affected.

sors or connector leads carried out at a qualified
specialist workshop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Serv-
ice Centre. The vehicle parts may otherwise
wear more quickly and the vehicle warranty and
general operating permit may be invalidated.
Retrofitting electrical/electronic
equipment
Electrical and electronic equipment can
jeopardise the operational safety of your
vehicle. If equipment of this kind is retrofit-
ted, it must be type-approved and bear the
e mark. You can obtain the e mark from
the equipment manufacturer or an author-
ised testing centre.

Damage caused by or as a result of fitting
equipment that is not approved by
Mercedes-Benz is not covered by the
Mercedes-Benz warranty.
If you wish to install telephones or two-way
radios in the vehicle, you must obtain for-
mal approval. Mercedes-Benz approves
the installation of mobile phones and two-
way radios if these are installed profes-
sionally with an exterior aerial which has
been fitted in such a way as to be low-re-
flection.
The transmission output of the telephone
or the two-way radio must not exceed the
maximum transmission output listed be-
low.
