If the switchover is not completed, the
transfer case switches to neutral position.
The LOW indicator lamp in the instrument
cluster flashes once a second.
Carry out the switching procedure
again.
Shifting to neutral
Turn the key to position 2 in the igni-
tion lock ( page 55).
Apply the handbrake.
Depress the brake pedal.
Shift the selector lever to N
( page 81).
Press the LOW switch for approximate-
ly 5 seconds.
If shifting is successful, the LOW indi-
cator lamp in the instrument cluster
flashes once a second.

A warning tone sounds if the transfer case is
in N, the key is in the ignition lock and you open
the driver's door.
