Engine oil
A list of engine oils that have been tested and approved in accordance with the Mercedes-Benz Specifications for Service Products is
available at every Mercedes-Benz Service Centre. Approval by Mercedes-Benz is also marked on the oil container with the MB sheet
number. The table shows which MB sheet number applies to which engine:
With diesel particle filter
MB sheet number
Without diesel particle filter
MB sheet number
1 Only for certain countries

If in exceptional circumstances the:
engine oil brand
quality grade (MB sheet number)
SAE classification (viscosity)
of the oil in the engine is not available, another
mineral or synthetic engine oil that has been ap-
proved by Mercedes-Benz may be used for top-
ping up.
Mixing oils will reduce the benefits of high-quali-
ty engine oils.

Do not use lubricant additives. They can lead
to increased wear of, and damage to, the assem-
blies. The use of lubricant additives could result
in a limitation of your warranty entitlement.

Engine oils for vehicles without a diesel par-
ticle filter can be used temporarily in vehicles
with a diesel particle filter but only if the listed
engine oil is not available. You must then have
the oil changed at the next possible opportunity.
