Shifting the transfer case

Risk of accident
Always apply the handbrake when the vehi-
cle is parked. Make sure that the transfer
case is not in N when parking the vehicle.
The vehicle could otherwise roll away on up-
hill or downhill gradients.
The switches are located on the control
panel in the centre console.

Switching from HIGH to LOW

Only carry out the gear change process if:
the engine is running
the vehicle is moving
the automatic transmission is in selector le-
ver position N
you are not driving faster than 40 km/h
You could otherwise damage the transfer case.
Press the LOW switch on the control
panel.
The LOW indicator lamp in the instru-
ment cluster flashes three times a sec-
ond during gearshifting.
If the switchover is successful, the
LOW indicator lamp in the instrument
cluster lights up.

If the switchover is successful, the
LOW indicator lamp in the instrument
cluster goes out.
