Risk of accident
If you suspect that you might encounter fog,
set the light switch to B before you start
the journey. You could otherwise cause an
accident due to the headlamps briefly being
switched off.
The switch is located on the upper section
of the centre console.

Make sure that the B dipped-beam
headlamps are switched on.
To switch on: press the upper section
of the switch.
The † indicator lamp in the instru-
ment cluster lights up.
To switch off: press the lower section
of the switch.
The † indicator lamp in the instru-
ment cluster goes out.
Adjusting the headlamp range
Use the headlamp range adjustment to ad-
just the light beam from the headlamps to
your vehicle's load. Otherwise, the light
beam will change when the seats are occu-
pied or the load compartment is loaded or
unloaded. This could have an adverse ef-
fect on visibility and you could dazzle on-
coming traffic.

The load compartment may only be loaded
up to the maximum payload ( page 244). The
permissible rear axle load must not be exceeded
( page 244).
The rotary switch for controlling the head-
lamp range is to the left of the steering col-
umn.

control to the setting that corresponds
to the vehicle's load.
