Rear axle
Fit the jack to the axle tube of the front
or rear axle. The jack must always
stand vertically, even on slopes.
Raise the vehicle by pumping (arrow)
until the wheel is raised a maximum of
3 cm from the ground.
Removing the wheel
Remove the wheel bolts/nuts.

Do not place wheel bolts/nuts in sand or on
a dirty surface. This could damage the thread on
the bolts/nuts and the wheel hubs.
Remove the wheel.
Fitting a new wheel
Clean the wheel and wheel hub contact
surfaces.
Push the wheel onto the wheel hub and
press it on.
Screw on the wheel bolts/nuts finger
tight.

Replace damaged or corroded wheel bolts/
nuts.
Never oil or grease wheel bolts/nuts.

If a wheel hub thread is damaged, you must
not drive the vehicle. Consult a qualified
specialist workshop which has the neces-
sary specialist knowledge and tools to carry
out the work required. Mercedes-Benz rec-
ommends that you use a Mercedes-Benz
Service Centre or "Service 24h" for this pur-
pose. In particular, work relevant to safety
or on safety-related systems must be car-
ried out at a qualified specialist workshop.
