User Accounts
The default user accounts are as follows:
READONLY: This account allows viewing, but not modification, of all provisioning settings,

alarms, and statistics.
READWRITE: As above, plus – this account allows changes to standard provisioning

settings and the administering of system tests.
ADMIN: As above, plus – this account allows changes to all provisionable settings as well
♦
as network configuration settings that are not accessible to READWRITE and READONLY
accounts. Examples include SNMP provisioning, TL1 provisioning, Date/Time settings,
password administration, and software downloads.
Logging in to the OPTI-6100
There are multiple ways to connect and logon to the system:
Menu session through the Craft or Admin port

A menu session is the most common way to access and provision the OPTI-6100 system. These
menus are available through a VT100 terminal session, a Telnet session, or by typing
during a TL1 session.
Telnet Access
The SCM supports up to 30 possible concurrent Telnet sessions. These sessions can be used for
up to 11 menu sessions and up to 18 TL1 sessions. Up to four TL1 sessions can be reserved for
X.25 [TL1/menu] sessions. One session is available if using the Terminal Server. Telnet is
supported through the IP network interfaces.
NOTE
Although the OPTI-6100 supports concurrent menu sessions, only
one user can access a specific module at one time. If one user is
already accessing a particular module, other sessions show the
module in inverse display, and return the message
