OMM48 Module Installation

OMM48 modules terminate an OC-48 fiber circuit to feed the OPTI-6100 chassis, converting
OC-48 signals into STS-N signals, distributed through the backplane to the tributary modules.
Each OMM48 module requires an SFP to provide the optical interface.
NOTICE
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage electronic modules.
Before handling modules, wear an antistatic discharge wrist strap
to prevent damage to electronic components. Place modules in
antistatic packing material when transporting or storing. When
working on modules, always place them on an approved antistatic
mat that is electrically grounded.
Inspect all modules prior to installation. If a module has been
damaged during shipping, file a claim with the carrier and contact
ADTRAN Customer Support. Refer to
To avoid pinching the fibers between the module and chassis,
route the fibers through the guides on the module and out along
the top edge of the front panel, as illustrated in
