OMM12 Module Installation

OMM12 modules (OMM12VIRE illustrated in
to feed the OPTI-6100, converting OC-12 signals into STS-N signals, distributed through the
backplane to the tributary modules.
NOTICE
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage electronic modules.
Before handling modules, wear an antistatic discharge wrist strap
to prevent damage to electronic components. Place modules in
antistatic packing material when transporting or storing. When
working on modules, always place them on an approved antistatic
mat that is electrically grounded.
Inspect all modules prior to installation. If a module has been
damaged during shipping, file a claim with the carrier and contact
ADTRAN Customer Support. Refer to
To avoid pinching the fibers between the module and chassis,
route the fibers through the guides on the module and out along
the top edge of the front panel, as illustrated in
OMM12VIRE

OMM12 modules plug directly into the MX or SMX chassis in either HS slot, located directly in
the center of the chassis, labeled
NOTE
OMM12 modules are not supported in the LMX chassis.
