Use this Installation and Turn-Up procedure for the following modules:

The ETHM8, ETHM8-2, and ETHM8E map/demap 155 Mbps bandwidth (STS-3 rate, received
as VT1.5, STS-1, or STS-3c) between the backplane and eight front-panel 10/100Base-TX ports
The ETHM8EF module maps/demaps 155 Mbps bandwidth (STS-3 rate, received as VT1.5,
STS-1, or STS-3) between the backplane and eight front-panel 100Base-FX ports.
The ETHM8EW maps/demaps 1.2 Gbps bandwidth (STS-24 rate, received as VT1.5, STS-1,
STS-3c, or STS-12c) between the backplane and six front-panel 10/100Base-TX Ethernet ports
and two front-panel 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The ETHEM8EH maps/demaps 622 Mbps bandwidth (STS-12 rate, received as VT1.5, STS-1,
STS-3c, or STS-12c) between the backplane and eight front-panel 10/100Base-TX ports.
The ETHM8HF module maps/demaps 1.2 Gbps bandwidth (received as 24×STS-1) between the
backplane and eight front-panel 100Base-FX ports.

NOTICE
Eight-port Ethernet modules are two MS slots wide. These modules
plug directly into any OPTI-6100 chassis, in any odd-numbered MS
slot. These modules also occupy the adjacent, even-numbered slot.
