Ethernet ports can be in either STS-1 or VT1.5 mode. In order to work with an Ethernet port
with the STS-1 mapping menu the port must be set to STS-1 mode. As long as there are no

Creating a New VT1.5 Mapping

VT1.5 mapping is very similar to STS-1 mapping. Non-Ethernet cards gain a new STS-1 level
within the card level. When a VT1.5 command is given, a prompt for a repeat count occurs,
which can duplicate the command over several consecutive VT1.5s. Use a repeat count of one
for functionality like the STS-3c and STS-1 menus.
An OMM12 not equipped with a TUP chip cannot map VT1.5s to non-Ethernet tributary
modules, and cannot map VT1.5 hairpins.
