SPEEDOMETER AND SENSOR
DESCRIPTION OF CIRCUIT
The speedometer circuit consists of the speedometer installed inside the combination meter and the speed sensor
installed to the transmission case.

Removal
1) Disconnect coupler from speed sensor.
2) Remove speed sensor.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure for installation.
1. Speed sensor
Inspection
D Resistance between terminals should be within the following
range.
Coil resistance (20_ – 30_C): 300 – 450W
D When speed sensor shaft is turned with fingers, resistance due
to magnetic force (click) should be felt.
1. Battery
2. Main fuse
3. Ignition switch
4. Junction/fuse block
5. Joint connector
6. Speedometer
7. ECM
8. Cruise controller (if equipped)
9. Speed sensor
