1. Gear shift locating bolt
2. Low speed locating spring
3. Steel ball
4. High speed locating spring
5. 5th & reverse locating spring
1. Bolt
2. Left case plate
3. Input shaft
4. 5th & REV gear shift guide shaft
5. Countershaft
5) Check locating springs for deterioration and replace with new
ones as necessary.
REF No.
6) Install steel ball and locating spring for respective gear shift
shaft and tighten with bolt.
Tightening Torque
(a): 13 N·m (1.3 kg-m, 9.5 lb-ft)
FIFTH GEARS
1) For installation procedure, refer to Steps 1) to 3) of same item
of Assembly Unit in SECTION 7A.
2) Place left case plate inserting its end in groove of shift guide
shaft and then tighten it with bolts applied with thread lock ce-
ment.
NOTE:
After tightening bolts, make sure that countershaft can be
rotated by hand feeling some load.
"A": Thread lock 1322, 99000-32110
Tightening Torque
(a): 23 N·m (2.3 kg-m, 17.0 Ib-ft)
3) Install countershaft 5th gear to countershaft facing machined
boss A inward.
