Connecting to a Serial Port

4. Set the target PLC's IP Address.
If do not know the target PLC's IP address, user can click the Browse but-
ton on the right side of IP Address and it will show a dialogue box as follow.
The CX-Programmer will automatically search all CP1L-EL/EM series
PLCs under the same segment in the local area. All PLC found by CX-Pro-
grammer will be listed with the IP address, PLC's type and MAC ID in the
Select Target IP Address dialogue box. Choose a target PLC to be con-
nected and click the OK button.
5. Change the IP setting in PC side to an IP address in same subnet as the
target PLC.
6. Click the OK button in the Network Settings dialogue box and finish the
settings.
7. Then connect to the CP1L-EL/EM by executing the CX-Programmer's on-
line connection command.
Mounting a CP1W-CIF01 RS-232C Option Board in a CP1L-EL/EM Option
Board slot makes it possible to connect Support Software with serial commu-
nications, just as with previous models.
