ip domain-lookup

Global Configuration

Domain names are added to the end of the list one at a time.

When an incomplete host name is received by the DNS service on this

switch, it will work through the domain list, appending each domain

name in the list to the host name, and checking with the specified

name servers for a match.

If there is no domain list, the domain name specified with the

command is used. If there is a domain list, the default

domain name is not used.

This example adds two domain names to the current list and then displays

Console(config)#ip domain-list sample.com.uk

Console(config)#end

Console#show dns

Domain Lookup Status:

DNS disabled

Default Domain Name:

Domain Name List:

sample.com.jp

sample.com.uk

Name Server List:

ip domain-name (971)

This command enables DNS host name-to-address translation. Use the no

form to disable DNS.

[no] ip domain-lookup
