These commands are used to configure Domain Naming System (DNS)
services. Entries can be manually configured in the DNS domain name to IP
address mapping table, default domain names configured, or one or more
name servers specified to use for domain name to address translation.
Note that domain name services will not be enabled until at least one name
server is specified with the
enabled with the
ip domain-lookup

clear dns cache
Clears all entries from the DNS cache
clear host
Deletes entries from the host name-to-address table
show dns
Displays the configuration for DNS services
show dns cache
Displays entries in the DNS cache
show hosts
Displays the static host name-to-address mapping
table
This command defines a list of domain names that can be appended to
incomplete host names (i.e., host names passed from a client that are not
formatted with dotted notation). Use the no form to remove a name from
this list.

name - Name of the host. Do not include the initial dot that
separates the host name from the domain name.
