Web: Setting RADIUS Accounting Server Parameters

The Accounting Servers screen in the WLAN Configuration – Security pop-up
window sets the primary and secondary server parameters for the RADIUS
Accounting server. This configures the RADIUS Accounting servers to which
the access point RADIUS server transmits user-session information. For the
configuration of the RADIUS Servers, see
page 7-33.
The Web interface allows modification of these parameters to use RADIUS
Authentication on the access point:
Primary Accounting Server: Enables configuration of a RADIUS
Accounting server in the network for RADIUS authentication transmis-
sion from the access point.
IP Address: Specifies the IP address of the RADIUS Accounting
server (The default is 0.0.0.0, which indicates disabled.)
Port: The User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port number used by the
RADIUS Accounting server for accounting messages. Setting the port
number to zero disables RADIUS Accounting. (The default is 1813.)
Key: A shared text string used to encrypt messages between the
access point and the RADIUS Accounting server. Be sure that the
same text string is specified on the RADIUS server.
The only characters allowed in the shared key are "A-Z", "a-z", "0-9",
comma, hyphen, tab, blank space, single quote, open parenthesis, and
closing parenthesis. The maximum length for the RADIUS shared key
is 64 characters, and the RADIUS accounting server is not required to
have the same shared key as the authentication server.
Secondary Accounting Server: Configure a secondary RADIUS
Accounting server to provide a backup in case the primary server fails.
The access point uses the secondary server if the primary server fails or
becomes inaccessible. Once the access point switches over to the
secondary server, it periodically attempts to establish communication
again with primary server. If communication with the primary server is
reestablished, the secondary server reverts to a backup role. (The default
is Disabled.)
