RAP 39 Turn Roll Clutch Assembly

Procedure
Enter Diagnostics and select Component Test. Scroll to Turn Roll Clutch and press Enter. You
can hear the Turn Roll Clutch energize.

Remove Tray 1. Check the voltage between the lower contact of the Paper Feeder Con-
nector and frame ground The voltage is +24VDC.

Switch the printer power off. Remove the Left Interface Cover
(REP
1.2), and the Left Plate Assembly
the Print Engine Controller PWB, check the voltage between P/J33 pin 6 and frame
ground. The voltage is +24VDC.

Replace the Print Engine Controller PWB
Replace the Feeder PWB

On the left side of the Paper Tray, measure the resistance between the upper and lower
contacts on the Paper Feeder Connector. Their is continuity between the two con-
tacts.

Replace the Paper Feeder Connector
Switch the printer power off. Remove the Paper Feeder Assembly
P/J64 from the Feeder PWB. Measure the resistance between pins 1 and 2 on the discon-
nected plug. Their is continuity between the two pins.

Replace the Turn Clutch Assembly
Replace the Feeder PWB

3.9). If the problem persists, replace the Size PWB

Switch the printer power off. Remove the Front Cover
lock Switch. Enter diagnostics and select Component Test. Scroll to Main Motor and press
Enter. Scroll to Turn Roll Clutch and press Enter. The Turn Rolls rotate smoothly without
stalling or jerking.

RAP 40 Tray 1 Feed Clutch

Procedure
NOTE: Tray 1 interlocks the 24VDC supply to the Tray 1 Size PWB, Tray 1 Feeder PWB, Tray 2
and Tray 3. Tray 2 interlocks the 24VDC supply to the Tray 2 Size PWB, Tray 2 Feeder PWB,
and Tray 3. Tray 3 interlocks the 24VDC supply to the Tray 3 Size PWB and the Tray 3 Feeder
PWB.
Enter Diagnostics and select Component Test. Scroll to Confirm Tray 1 Feed Clutch and press
Enter. You can hear the Tray 1 Feed Clutch energize.
