5.3.7 Configuring Retransmission for the RADIUS Server
I. Configuring a Response Timeout for the RADIUS Server
To judge whether a RADIUS server is invalid, the router will periodically send a
request packet to it. If there is no response from the RADIUS server within the time
configured, the router needs to resend the request packet.
Do as follows in RADIUS view.

Configure a response timeout.
Restore the default setting.
This configuration can be modified only when the RADIUS server template is not used
by any users.
II. Configuring a Number of Retransmission Events for the RADIUS Server
After sending a request packet to the RADIUS server but not receiving any response
within the time configured, the router needs to resend the request packet. When the
number of the retransmission events exceeds the maximum number configured, the
server will be considered as out of service.
Do as follows in RADIUS view.

5.3.8 Configuring a NAS Port for the RADIUS Server
Both the NAS-port format and the NAS-port-ID format are the internal extended
attributes of Huawei-3Com, used for the intercommunication and service cooperation
between Huawei-3Com devices and making the device control more flexible.
Do as follows in RADIUS view.
