Chapter 3 AUX Interface Configuration
3.1 Introduction
The AUX interface can only work in asynchronous mode. It can serve as
asynchronous serial interface, through which the SecPath F1800-A is connected with
Modem to carry out the remote configuration. The SecPath F1800-A provides
command line configuration for the AUX interface.
3.2 Configuring the AUX Interface
The AUX interface configuration includes:
Entering AUX interface view
Configuring link establishment mode
Configuring level detection
Configuring loopback
Setting link layer protocol type
3.2.1 Entering AUX Interface View
Do as follows in system view.

3.2.2 Configuring Link Establishment Mode
The AUX interface has two kinds of link establishment modes:
protocol
It refers to protocol mode; that is, after the connection is set up, the system uses the
existing link layer configuration parameters to establish links.
flow
It refers to flow mode, also called interactive mode. After a user dials up successfully,
the calling end sends a configuration command to the receiving end (or a user can
type this command remotely) to set link layer working parameters of the receiving end,
and then establishes the link. It is generally used for man-machine interaction, such
as dialup. The user in interactive mode is also called EXEC user.
