Table 5-8 Configuring OSPF to import routes of other protocols
Configure OSPF to import routes of
other protocols.
Cancel importing routing information
of other protocols.
II. Configuring OSPF to Import the Default Route
In practice, it may be required to notify the default route of the local router to other
OSPF routers. You cannot import a default route into the OSPF routing table even by
using the import-route command. You can import the default route into OSPF routing
table by using the default-route-advertise command and then advertise the route to
other OSPF routers.
Do as follows in OSPF view.
Table 5-9 Configuring OSPF to import the default route
Import the default route to OSPF.
Delete the imported default route.
When parameter always is set in the command, an LSA will be generated in the
OSPF routing table no matter there is a default route on the local router or not.
Otherwise, the default route will be imported only when it does exist on the local
router.
III. Setting Parameters for OSPF to Import External Routes
In the case that OSPF imports routing information found by other routing protocols to
the local AS, it is also necessary to set some extra parameters, such as default cost
and default tag for route import. A route label can be used to identify relevant protocol
information, such as the number used to distinguish ASs when OSPF receives BGP.
Do as follows in OSPF view.
