Operation Manual - Network and Routing Protocol
H3C SecPath F1800-A Firewall
The ip rip work command is equal to both rip input and rip output commands in
function.
By default, an interface both receives and sends RIP update packets.
4.2.7 Disabling Host Route
In some special cases, the router can receive a lot of host routes from the same
segment, and these routes are of little help in route addressing but consume a lot of
network resources. After host route is disabled, a router can refuse a host route it
receives.
Do as follows in RIP view.
Table 4-7 Disabling host route
Enable receiving host route.
Disable receiving host route.
4.2.8 Configuring Route Aggregation
The route aggregation means that different subnet routes in the same natural network
segment can be aggregated into one natural mask route when they are sent to other
network segments. Route can be aggregated to reduce the routing traffic on the
network as well as to reduce the size of the routing table.
RIP-1 only sends the route with natural mask, that is, it always sends routes in the
form of route aggregation. RIP-2 supports subnet mask and classless inter-domain
routing. To advertise all the subnet routes, the route aggregation of RIP-2 can be
disabled.
Do as follows in RIP view.
Table 4-8 Configuring route aggregation
Enable the route aggregation of RIP-2.
Disable the route aggregation of RIP-2.
4.2.9 Configuring RIP Packet Authentication
RIP-1 does not support packet authentication. But when the interface operates RIP-2,
the packet authentication can be configured.
RIP-2 supports two authentication modes:
