Chapter 4 Configuration
SNMP itself is a simple request/response protocol based on the manager/agent model. The
manager issues a request and the agent returns responses using the following protocol operations:

4.1.1 MIB Browser

To open the MIB Browser screen, select a device in the OTV and click Configuration > MIB
Browser to display the MIB browser screen. Then select an object from the SNMP MIB tree to
display its details to the right. Use this screen to do the following SNMP operations:
• Retrieving Data - Get, GetNext, GetBulk
• Altering Variables - Set
Note: Click the Plus Sign (+) next to a MIB object in the SNMP MIB tree to go to the next
layer down.

DESCRIPTION
Allows the manager to retrieve an object variable from the agent.
Allows the manager to retrieve the next object variable from a table or list within an agent.
In SNMP, when a manager wants to retrieve all elements of a table from an agent, it initiates
a Get operation, followed by a series of GetNext operations.
Allows the manager to set values for object variables within an agent.
Used by the agent to inform the manager of some events.
