The exposure lamp is a fluorescent lamp. It is controlled by the power supply

Control of the preheating
The exposure lamp is pre-heated. This shortens the time required for the inten-
sity of the exposure lamp to reach its optimum value, after a press on the Copy
button.
Preheating may be initial preheating or exposure lamp ON preheating.
Initial Preheating

Power is applied during initial rotation.
Preheating in ON situation
I
Power is applied during the copying operation.
