Background
The engine control module checks current flows in the turbocharger waste gate solenoid
drive circuit when the solenoid is ON and OFF.
Check Area
Battery voltage is not lower than 10 V.
Judgement Criteria
Solenoid coil surge voltage (system voltage
waste gate solenoid is turned on/off.
Check the turbocharger
(Refer to GROUP 15 On-vehicle Service.)
OK
Measure at the turbocharger waste gate pressure solenoid
connector
Disconnect the connector and measure at the harness
side.
Voltage between 2 and ground (Ignition switch: ON)
OK: Battery positive voltage
Measure at the ECM connector
Disconnect the and measure at the harness
connector
Voltage between 11 and ground (Ignition switch: ON)
OK: Battery positive voltage
Check trouble symptom.

[Replace the ECM.
