Background
The PCM receives generator field input.
Battery voltage is supplied to the generator through the
Range of Check
Ignition switch: ON
relay (ASD relay): ON
Set Condition
Open or short circuit is detected in the generator field control circuit.
SCAN TOOL Actuator test
10 relay (ASD relay)
OK: The relay operating sound can be heard
Measure at the generator connector
Disconnect the connector, and measure at the harness side.
SCAN TOOL Actuator test
10 relay (ASD relay)
relay is turned on
Voltage between 1 and ground
[Measure with the relay (ASD relay) on]
OK: Battery positive voltage
Measure at the generator connector
Disconnect the connector and measure at the component side.
Continuity between 2 and generator body
OK: No continuity
Check the harness wire between the PCM and the generator
connector.
Check the following connectors:
