ENGINE OVERHAUL

C Y L I N D E R
REMOVAL
(1) Remove cylinder
(2) With cylinder head removed, compress valve springs using
Special Tool
retaining locks, valve
valve- spring.
(4) Remove valve stem seal/valve spring seat
cial Tool
(5) Before removing valves, remove
stem lock grooves to prevent damage to the valve guides.
Identify valves to' insure
CLEANING
CYLINDER HEAD
Caution
Be careful not to gouge or scratch the aluminum head
sealing surface.
(1) Remove all gasket material from cylinder head and block.
VALVE ASSEMBLY
(1) Clean all valve guides, valves and valve
thoroughly with suitable
bling.
