4.6.4.2.4 Installing a Door Closer

Procedure
Step 1 Install guide rails for a door closer.

Step 2 Put the door closer arm onto the door closer through the end with a square hole, and pull the
door closer arm to the slider on the guide rail, as shown in

Remove the rear panel from the upper frame mounting kit, as shown by (1) in
4-79.

Remove the guide rail sealing kit from the bottom of the upper frame mounting kit, as
shown by (2) in Figure 4-79. The space for guide rails is exposed, as shown by (3) in
Figure 4-79.
Apply lubricant on the inner side of the door closer guide rails. You can use the lubricant
delivered with the guide rail.
Place the guide rail into the installation space shown by (3) in
to the upper frame mounting kit using four screws. Ensure that the ends with springs are
secured to the ends connected to the door posts, as shown in
