Server in tower mode: Position the tower server for operation on page 42.
Server in rack mode: Slide the server into the rack on page 47.
17. Connect all peripheral cables to the server.
18. Connect each power cord to the server.
19. Connect each power cord to the power source.
20. Power up the server on page 38.
21. Install the SFF hot-plug drives.
22. Install the front bezel on page 40.
The installation is complete.

8 NVMe SSD Express Bay enablement option

The server supports the 8 NVMe SSD Express Bay enablement option. This option can only be installed in
box 2 of an SFF drive configuration.
Kit contents
8 NMVe SSD Express Bay drive cage
SSD drive blanks (7, preinstalled in the drive cage)
NVMe riser boards (2)
NMVe SSD data cables (2)
Drive power cable
T-15 Torx screws (4)

Installing the NVMe SSD Express Bay enablement option

Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
8 NVMe SSD Express Bay enablement option kit
NVMe SSD option
T-15 Torx screwdriver
Procedure
1.
Remove the front bezel on page 39.
2.
Power down the server on page 38.
3.
Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4.
Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5.
Do one of the following:
Server in tower mode: Position the tower server for hardware configuration on page 41.
Server in rack mode: Extend the server from the rack on page 43.
6.
Remove the access panel on page 48.
7.
Remove the air baffle on page 50.
8.
If installed, remove the fan cage.
9.
Remove the drive cage blank from box 2.
Retain the blank for future use.
