4. Perform the post-installation/maintenance steps required by the procedure that required the removal of the
fan cage.
Remove the half-height media bay blank
CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.
Procedure
While pressing the latch on the media bay blank, pull out the blank from the bay.
Retain the blank for future use.
Remove the PCI blank retainer
Procedure
1. Perform the pre-installation steps required by the standup plug-in board installation.
2. Remove the PCI blank retainer:
